The health crisis we are going through requires efforts from everyone. Advantage International has procedures in place to protect its groups staying with host families or at partner colleges, during coach travel and excursions.
Our host families will receive clear advice on how to prepare their homes (thorough cleaning and airing of rooms for several hours before arrival) and we will maintain regular communication with them regarding the latest government guidelines on social distancing regulations.
UK SCHOOL PARTNERS
We have exclusivity agreements in place for all of our residential courses, so there will be no other groups present during your school trip to our English partner colleges.
Hand washing - students will be invited to wash their hands before and after classes, activities, meals. Hand sanitizers will be available in all of the communal and dining areas and students will be encouraged to use them regularly.
Activities will take place in small groups and we will not organize indoor events involving a large concentration of students, such as disco nights.
For example, Adcote school (our partner on our Harry Potter themed trip) has adopted the BSA Covid-Safe Charter, with other member schools, to ensure that the school takes all appropriate measures to make the boarding school safe for all.
By adopting the charter, Adcote School confirms that it complies with all government rules and guidelines and that it will meet the requirements defined by the BSA when the boarding school reopens.
For more information, the Covid-Safe charter is available here : Covid Safe Charter
COACH TRAVEL / EXCURSION
Face cover - all students will be required to wear a mask during transportation and visits, as well as during any movement within a building. We will always have a small stock of masks available in case of omission.
Excursions - we will avoid crowded areas and locations whenever possible and students will be encouraged to keep a safe distance and not touch anything unnecessarily. We will give preference to outdoor visits and activities.
In addition to our health measures to limit the spread of the virus as much as possible, Advantage International keeps up to date with the latest recommendations and official measures put in place by the British government.
ENTERING THE UK
Because of coronavirus (COVID-19), you need to complete a passenger locator form before you arrive in the UK. You may also need to self-isolate for up to 14 days when you arrive, depending on where you’ve travelled from.
You may not need to isolate yourself if you are travelling from one of the countries, territories or regions listed in the link below:
Your passport or identity card will be checked when you arrive at a UK port or airport to make sure you’re allowed to come into the country. It should be valid for the whole of your stay.
BREXIT - passport rules for travel
The UK has left the EU, and the transition period after Brexit comes to an end this year.
EU, EEA and Swiss citizens will continue to be able to travel to the UK for holidays or short trips without needing a visa.
You’ll be able to cross the UK border using a valid passport. You will not be able to use your EEA or Swiss national ID card to enter the UK from 1 October 2021.
